One of Lisbon's oldest suburbs, located on top of her highest hill, a few blocks northeast of the Castelo de São Jorge. The neighborhood which centers around the Largo da Graça boasts some of the most spectacular views in Lisbon. The most famous viewpoint is the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, which offers up the whole of central Lisbon and the castle to the north. The lesser-known Miradouro da Senhora do Monte is an uncrowded spot where you can sit and watch the sunset over the city.
Sample these breathtaking views from one of the area’s miradouros, or observation decks.
If you want an even higher perch, head to the roofs of the São Vicente de Fora monastery or the Moorish medieval citadel of Castelo de São Jorge, two of the most important buildings in Lisbon.
